City golfers at Tollygunge Club played golf with a heightened sense of enthusiasm. The reason was big enough - to ace their golf skills under Asian Games gold medalist Shiv Kapur.
The Delhi-based golfer was back in the city after two years, but this time for an exclusive BMW Golf Clinic organised in association with JW Marriott. Conducted in two sessions, that started at 7am, the ace golfer interacted with fellow golfers on individual level and shared tips to better their game. A sports junkie, as he calls himself, Kapur says, “I made it very clear to the players. I told them I am not here to change their game, rather to better what they already have.” Kapur who got his National Junior Championship Title two decades ago in Kolkata believes the city has good pool of talent and the respect a player gets here is second to none.
Talking about the clinic, Gaurav Singh, General Manager JW Marriott Kolkata & Cluster General Manager Bangladesh says, “We have just become members of Tolly Club and though Shiv has been a partner with us for a long time but this is the first time we are having this clinic with Shiv in Kolkata. The idea is to interact with the local community and it’s great to have a professional like Shiv onboard to share his secrets to make their game better.”
Surajit Saha, AGM marketing, East BMW Kolkata avers, “We conduct golf clinics on regular intervals and this time we have Shiv Kapur with us to share his valuable tips and add to the experience of the golfers. We have around 20 people this time and this session will give them extra mileage.
