When we dropped by their flagship outlet, the golden arclights guided us to the massive 60,000 sq.ft. store in the second floor. “One of the reasons we chose to have out first store in Hyderabad is because there are new apartments coming up, thanks to people moving here for the IT Sector jobs,” says Uday Singh, the Regional Manager, Danube Home India. The washroom vanity section was what we checked out first. The plush jacuzzi set-ups and bathtubs set in a golden finish could even make Gossip Girl protagonist, the queen bee Blair Waldorf happy! Those who prefer muted settings and would rather stay away from the glitz could opt for their turquoise washroom settings. The recently launched Royal Class, collection in the gold range is elegant and framed by artistic arabesque motifs.

As we move past to the elaborate  tile section, we figure that it is divided into those of Indian make and the ones shipped from abroad. The ones that grabbed our attention were the foam tiles that are stick-ons with a hint of shimmer. “Even if your toddlers mess up the tile with colouring paints you can easily wash it off,” says Uday. Known for their stylish designs — their outdoor set-ups like gazebos with a dining tables and mesh curtains are perfect for penthouses and roof tops.

The aesthetics of the gazebos had a vintage charm feel complete with mesh curtains. Apart from the purposes of vanity, they also serve to keep the mosquitoes at bay. As we walk further, post the modular bedroom set-ups and the sofa-beds from Turkey, we reach the chandelier section, where the pristine white marble flooring of the store shines because of more than 100 varieties of breathtaking light fixtures on display. There are classics to the contemporary designs, like simplistic pendant light fixtures and extravagant four-layer chandeliers, with gold trims and teardrop detailing with a floral motif on top which can infuse drama and glamour to a dining or a drawing room. Also, one can shop for industrial rustic lights which have exposed bulbs that can be a good fit in large living rooms and wide foyer areas.
