I think we’ve all been there! We’ve allowed a dark patch of skin on our face to take up all our mind space and obsessed over when or if it would disappear. Ever had your upper lips threaded? You know what we’re talking about.. those pesky little patches of skin at the corners of your lips that are a few shades darker than the rest of your face. So we’ve rounded up some home remedies that are proven to help reverse pigmentation….
Combine two to three tablespoons of aloe vera pulp with a tablespoon of honey. Apply it to the dark patches and leave it on for 20 minutes or until dry. Then, rinse it off with warm water. Do this one everyday for 3 weeks.
Lactic acid present in milk, buttermilk or even sour milk is said to lighten discoloured skin. Just dip a ball of cotton in the milk and pat over the affected area twice a day until you see the desired results.
Black tea water
Add one teaspoon of tea leaves to boiling water and let it steep for two hours. The, strain the tea and dip cotton into the tea and place over the dark patch of skin. Do this twice a day, six days of the week, over a month.
Apple cider vinegar
Mix equal parts of apple cider vinegar and water. Next, apply it to the dark patches and leave it on for three minutes. After three minutes rinse it with lukewarm water. Repeat this twice daily until you see results.
Add a few drops of lemon juice to a teaspoon of turmeric powder to make a paste. Apply the paste on the affected area. Leave it on for 15 minutes and then rinse. Do this once a day until you get the result you want.
