If you don’t want to go cold turkey over your weekly cocktails but want to have a check on your
calorie intake, here’s a solution. TGI Fridays has launched a new skinny cocktail, as they are popularly called by the restaurant, and a super foods menu.
Offering four drinks and seven dishes, the list has been carefully packed with healthy ingredients, says General Manager, Tripurari Kumar. “We are using freshly squeezed juices, rather than concentrated blends that can help add a healthier twist,” says Tripurari.
First on our table is a slightly sweet but certainly comforting Ultimate Skinny Electric Lemonade. The drink is made of a high voltage blend of Smirnoff Vodka, blue curacao, soda and a dash of lemon. The next drink in line is Ultimate Skinny Mojito. With a mix of Bacardi Carta Blanca, this cocktail incorporates mint leaves, which beautifully enhances the flavour, and the “mostly-secret” house-made skinny agave sour mix.
From the Super Foods menu, we are served the Fruits and Nut salad made with crisp lettuce, spinach and broccoli. The salad, which is topped with walnuts, apples, dried apricots and blueberries, is light and tasty. For something more filling, try their Pomegranate Honey Mustard Salmon. The not-so-salty and grilled salmon fillet catches our attention for the extra serving of toasted almonds, cranberry and blueberry couscous and ginger-garlic kale. A must-try dish is the Cherry Chipotle BBQ Chicken, the perfect accompaniment for their skinny drinks.
We also enjoyed the Fruit Crumble, a dessert, jam-packed with strawberries, blueberries and juicy peaches. It is served piping hot and topped with a scoop of vanilla frozen yogurt.
Priced at Rs. 885 upwards.
From 12 pm onwards.
