Popcorn and pudina rasam don’t often feature in the same venue. At ID’s all-new menu curated by food researcher Rakesh Raghunathan, theatre goers can hop from one to the other in the space of an item song. Ironically, our favourite item on the ‘Good Old Classics’ menu was, Kanchipuram idli served bare-bodied, save for a skimpy attire of Mandhaarai leaves.

“The idea of this menu is to bring the long-lost dishes of interiors of Tamil Nadu to mainstream urban foodies” revealed food researcher and founder of Puliyogare Travels, Rakesh Raghunathan. The scrumptious food creations are made by the team lead by Chef Muthukumaran at ID, SPI Cinemas.
Pudina rasam loaded with mint and pepper pods stirs your soul with at every slurp. The rice items, vangibath, a Karnataka dish made of eggplant and kadamba saadam a Tamil Nadu dal-based dish are equally delectable.

The spread ends with two sinful desserts, Hayagreeva Maddi, a channa dal and jaggery sweet found in Karnataka, and ksheera, a slow cooked semolina in milk. “This three-week menu will feature in all the nine branches of ID including the one at the domestic airport,” quipped Bhavesh Shah, head of experience, SPI. He also informed that this is the first of such series and the foodies can expect more menus curated by
Rakesh and the in-house chefs too.

At all branches of ID. Thali (per person): `230. Details: 43920346
