National Museum, New Delhi, will host the inauguration of the exhibition, India and the World: A History in Nine Stories, on Saturday, 5 May 2018 at 5 pm by the Hon'ble Minister for Culture (Independent Charge), Dr Mahesh Sharma at the National Museum Auditorium, Janpath, New Delhi.

This massive exhibition is the result of a huge and unprecedented collaboration between The British Museum, London, National Museum, New Delhi, the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS), Mumbai, and 20-odd private collections from India. 

The event is being supported by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India; Tata Trusts; the Getty Foundation and the Newton Bhabha Fund. The exhibition commemorates 70 years of Indian Independence and a year of major cultural exchange between India and the UK (UK/India 2017).
