According to reports, actor-producer Brad Pitt said on Wednesday that he has given his former wife, actress Angelina Jolie, more than $1 million, in court documents. This statement came as a counter after Jolie asserted a day earlier that he has paid “no meaningful child support” for their six children ever since their split in 2016. In documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, Pitt’s attorneys also said that the actor had loaned Jolie $8 million to help Jolie buy a new home.

“What has been filed by Brad’s side today is a blatant attempt to obfuscate the truth and distract from the fact that he has not fully met his legal obligations to support the children,” attorney Samantha Bley DeJean of Jolie said in a statement to a leading media organisation.

Pitt and Jolie were married for two years and had a 10-year romance that had made the pair one of Hollywood’s most glamorous couples. They have six children for whom, the actress-director is seeking primary custody. Final custody arrangements are yet to be agreed.
