After giving a few behind-the-scenes images from the video, American singer Ariana Grande released her single, Thank U, Next on Friday. The video has already reached about 40 million views 16 hours after posting it on YouTube. Upon its release on Friday, the video reportedly set a new Youtube record with 829,000 simultaneous live viewers on its Premieres tool, which allows people to experience videos together in real time.

The video was known to be among the first to get a million views in less than 34 minutes. Apart from breaking records, the single also broke the internet, literally. It received so many comments during the first hour of its release that it crashed the YouTube comments section for a while. The online streaming platform later tweeted thanking the star and said, “The thank u, next video was so good, it broke the internet (or at least delayed YouTube comments from posting for a bit).”

In the video, Grande is seen recreating iconic scenes from 2000's hit films Legally Blonde, 13 Going On 30, Bring It On and Mean Girls. Celebrity cameos in the video include Dynasty actress Elizabeth Gillies, Jennifer Coolidge as her Legally Blonde character Paulette, Kris Jenner and singer-actor Troye Sivan.

Ariana hit a massive milestone yesterday as she became the most streamed artist worldwide on Spotify, taking the title from Selena Gomez. Earlier this week, Grande released a four-part YouTube original titled Ariana Grande: Dangerous Woman Diaries.
