Dhadak director Shashank Khaitan who launches Janhvi Kapoor with this film on Thursday said if his idea was to make a blockbuster, he would have worked with superstars. Shashank has cast Ishaan Khatter, Shahid Kapoor's half-brother, opposite Janhvi. Yet the director went on to say, "I was just making the film I wanted to make and I didn't treat them as stars."

However, in various other reports, the director is seen praising the star-kids for their professional commitment, especially Janhvi. Shashank also went on to add that he gives whole credit to Janhvi and her family who supported him to finish the shoot of his film. After the death of Sridevi, the director said that he was even ready to go back on set whenever Janhvi felt emotionally ready because at that time, for all of them, nothing was more important than her emotional security. However, Shashank said he was more than impressed to see her professionalism during the time to complete the film.

Popular Bollywood actress and mother of Janhvi Kapoor, Sridevi passed away on February 24, while the shooting of Dhadak was still going on. "Even we were heartbroken. Imagine what she went through," says Shashank."So my immediate question was not when will we be able to finish the film, but how will she recover from her emotional loss. I think on the 13th day, she geared up to shoot and I was so impressed," he added.

Dhadak releases on July 20.
