Amidst promotions for his film Thugs of Hindostan (TOH), Bollywood actor Aamir Khan revealed that he was looking forward to Diwali because he enjoys gambling. “What I like most about this festival is the gambling (laughs)! I’m a reckless gambler. I love it but do it (play cards) only once during this time of the year. I like poker and I’m looking forward to playing it,” the Dhoom 3 actor said to a leading media organisation. He further added that Kiran’s birthday is around the same time and he is always excited to spend time with his family. “What I enjoy about Deepawali is being with my family. This year, it’s even more special as it’s my wife, Kiran’s, birthday. I hope this Diwali will be special, joyous and safe for everyone,” he said.

Meanwhile, Aamir plays the role of Thug Firangi Mallah in TOH, also starring Amitabh Bachchan, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Katrina Kaif. Aamir also said that Firangi and the iconic character of Jack Sparrow (played by Johhny Depp from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise) have similar intrinsic characteristics and that he hopes people will forget Jack Sparrow after watching this film.
