Actor Anupam Kher, who will soon be seen portraying the role of Manmohan Singh, has requested the former prime minister to watch the film, The Accidental Prime Minister.

The much-anticipated film is based on the 2014 biography of the same name written by Sanjaya Baru. The 63-year-old actor wished the former Indian National Congress leader on his 86th birthday, and tweeted: "Respected Dr Manmohan Singh! Here is wishing you a very happy and healthy birthday. Maybe I will get an opportunity to have a cup of tea and a piece of cake with you if you ever watch our film. I promise you will like my portrayal."
