Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh has been in the news for its soulful songs, released over the last few weeks. The Udta Punjab actor is also busy promoting the film.

The official Hindi remake of Telugu film Arjun Reddy, Kabir Singh is a love story and about a surgeon who is affected by a break-up. The character gets addicted to alcohol and drugs as well.

In an interview with a leading media organisation, the actor spoke about playing Kabir. “I’ve had my very intense, self-destructive, heartbreak, angsty moments, where I’ve not been in control. But that feeling of falling apart, of self-destruction for not being able to deal with loss... Only from great love can come great anger. He is a phase in everyone’s life and that’s how I connected with the character,” he reportedly said.

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and also starring Kiara Advani, Kabir Singh will hit the screens on June 21, 2019.
