India and Pakistan are currently in a political turmoil after the February 14 terrorist attack in Pulwama. However, while most people are mourning and are against war, The Daily Show host Trevor Noah recently joked about the situation, leaving a lot of people angry. However, Trevor has finally responded and in fact defended the joke but has also apologised for hurting sentiments.

Trevor responding to all the fans said it was amazing how his joke trended more than the story of the actual conflict. He went on to add that sometimes it seems like people are more offended by the jokes comedians make about an issue than the issue itself. However, when a Twitter user pointed out that Trevor actually himself had had a violent past where his father shot his mother, he needn’t have mocked war through a Bollywood stereotype. The 35-year-old comedian said he did make jokes after his mother died, because he uses comedy to process pain and discomfort. However, Trevor said that he was sorry to all the people he hurt, because that is not what he was trying to do.

Earlier, Bollywood actor Swara Bhasker and comedienne Mallika Dua had slammed Trevor Noah for his comments on the satirical show and that is when the issue became viral amongst the news of the actual conflict. Interestingly, making fun of the whole situation, Trevor had actually said that while he does not want India and Pakistan to go to war, it would be the most entertaining war, as the soldiers would be dancing like a Bollywood star and even compared the war cry to a Punjabi song.
