One of Sonam Kapoor’s most loved and celebrated films in her career is 2016, Neerja.

The thriller drama is based on the life of a flight attendant, Neerja, who risked her life to stall the terrorists from attacking the passengers on board. Sonam took to social media to pay tribute to the braveheart on her death anniversary. She wrote: “Her life was a gift to us all. #RememberingNeerjaBhanot.”

It is the real-life story of Neerja, who laid her life to save other passengers when the airline Pan American World Airways was hijacked by terrorists during a stopover in Karachi, Pakistan, on September 5, 1986. She saved the lives of 360 passengers on Pan Am Flight 73.

Sonam will next be seen in The Zoya Factor, along with Dulquer Salman. Directed by Abhishek Sharma, the film will hit the screens on September 20.
