andMarking the return of Christina Hodson to the DC Extended Universe, she will now be the scriptwriter for Batgirl. The script was formerly written by Joss Whedon.

Apart from being roped in to write the script for Bumblebee and the upcoming Transformers spinoff, Hodson has projects such as Shut In and Unforgettable to her credit.

Whedon had exited Batgirl in February citing issues with the story. "Batgirl is such an exciting project, and Warners/DC such collaborative and supportive partners, that it took me months to realise I really didn't have a story," Whedon had said in a statement.

Batgirl will portray the life of Barbara Gordon, the daughter of police commissioner James Gordon, who doubles as one of Batman's sidekicks named Batgirl.
