The man streamed 40 minutes of the movie hours before it released in India before actor Vishal Krishna alerted the authorities.

Team Indulge

While fans have been eagerly waiting for Rajinikanth’s Kaala to release on Thursday, a fan in Singapore took it to another level as he live-streamed the movie on Facebook. However, he was immediately arrested after actor Vishal Krishna alerted authorities. The actor has recently risen to prominence for being at the forefront against piracy.

The situation came to light just hours before Kaala released to audiences in India, when Vishal received a message from his sources in Singapore about a man streaming the movie on his Facebook from Cathay multiplex. The actor who also heads the Tamil Nadu Films Producers' Council (TFPC) said that he immediately informed his team but it was not an easy task as it was a case that was outside the country. However, he was able to convince the authorities to make the arrest after he streamed 40 minutes of the movie. The actress also went on to say that while it was a little late, it will send out a message to all the other potential piracy offenders who may not even be aware that they are guilty.

Kaala is Rajinikanth’s most-awaited movie after two years and revolves around how he helps Mumbai’s Dharavi locals in their fight against a corrupt and selfish politician played by Nana Patekar. The film also stars Huma Qureshi and Eshwari Rao.
