Cannes 2018 is turning out to be a hotbed for controversy because, after an all-women silent protest, a Danish director’s film made people walkout during the screening. Lars von Triers "The House That Jack Built", is a film about a serial killer, but it left some audience so disgusted that they walked out. 

The extremely graphic movie follows a serial killer as he mutilates and strangles women, who are his victims in the movie. While the movie goes through different kinds of scenes, it was the scene where the character played by Matt Dillon shoots a hunting rifle at two small children. The walkout after he blows their heads off in the movie making over 100 watchers exit the space. 

While the movie received a prolonged standing ovation, the end of the movie, saw half of the balcony empty, as people could not deal with the gory scenes. Interestingly, von Triers is known to be a visionary in the French film industry for his various works.
