Guy Ritchie’s Aladdin hits theatres today as a remake of the 1992 animated film of the same name, based on the folk tale, One Thousand and One Nights. Written by Guy and John August, the American musical fantasy film will see Will Smith play Genie, as a tribute to Robin Williams, who voiced the role in the original film. The film will also see Mena Massoud and Naomi Scott play the lead roles as Aladdin and Princess Jasmine.
