The Cannes Film Festival, the summer’s sartorial spectacle, has returned and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made her first appearance at the red carpet in a creation by Falguni Shane Peacock. The over-the-top gown featured intricate details with the black base serving as a canvas for gold embellishments and puffed white sleeves adding a touch of drama.

In terms of makeup, Aishwarya wore her signature cat eyeliner and bold lips. Last year, she attended the show in a Sophie Couture creation with lightweight aluminium detail, hooded sillhouette and corseted bodice.
