If I had played the lead in Veere Di Wedding, other mainstream actors wouldn't have signed the film: Sonam Kapoor
Sonam KapoorAhuja, who has completed a decade-long journey in the Hindi film industry, says she chooses good work over fame and stardom. Having had a great start to 2018 with Padman, which was received well at the box office, Sonam will next be seen in her upcoming home production Veere Di Wedding, which also features Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania.
According to news sources, when asked about why she did not take the title role in Veere Di Wedding, Sonam said, “I don’t believe that I need to play the central character. It’s the character I wanted to play the most and I had the choice and I chose Avni. It worked out really well.... If I had chosen to play the central character, I don’t think any other mainstream actor would have done the film.”
The actress has a busy year ahead of her and will be seen in films such as Sanju, a biopic of actor Sanjay Dutt, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga and a film adaptation of Anuja Chauhan’s book The Zoya Factor.
