Folklore collection by Lai

India-American jewellery brand Lai has again come up with an eclectic new collection called Folklore, which brings back all the memories rooted in tradition. Each piece from this new collection by this contemporary, hand-crafted silver jewellery brand rooted in heritage is individualistic and has layers of meaning and symbolism.

Asymmetrical 'teetar' (bird) earrings

The exquisite pieces f beauty are sure to remind you of the colourful wooden toys that children used to play with in typical Indian households. The folksy drawings, the manadanas made during festivals like Rakshabandhan and all things traditional have been etched out in the designs that would inevitably evoke a deep recollection of the folk heritage we grew up with.

Conversation-starting 'devi' (goddess) earrings

"This is jewellery that will remind you of the India you knew. The one you continue to get inspired by and are so proud of. Jewellery you'll relate to at a much deeper level. The one you'll want to wear, keep close and pass on," says Puja Bhargava Kamath, founder and creative head, Lai.

Colour grid, pearl drop 'varnin' earrings

Rooted and earthy yet colourful and chic, the jewellery is culturally inspired yet contemporary in style and soothingly evocative by nature. Handcrafted at their Jaipur workshop, these are made in sterling silver with fine hand-painted enamel work.

Prices start at Rs.2500
