Check out ethnic classics at designer Farida Gupta's exhibition in Hyderabad
Nothing spells summer like a Farida Gupta salwar. Pair it with one of her classic palazzos and it is effortlessly chic. The Delhi-based label which offers kurtas, short tops, dresses, farsi pants, shararas, lounge pants and dupattas, will be showcasing some of her best-selling collections during her ongoing Hyderabad exhibition. Ethnic wear expert, Farida shares, “Hyderabadis must look out for the block-printed styles. That apart, ensembles in the ajrak weaves as well are some of our bestsellers too.”
As far as the silhouettes are concerned, the outfits feature a variety of cuts, ranging from the classic relaxed fits, straight cuts, to even the traditional anarkalis. “On the aesthetics front, we are sticking to the pastels,” says the designer, adding that one can spot soothing summer colours like white, peach and blush pink, especially in her new collection Gulzar which features flower motifs inspired by Persian Bloom. One can also expect artful sequins, jaal prints, big butas, with occasional mirror work and handcrafted embroidery. That apart, there will be a collection of ‘FG Basics’, which features buttoned-up kurtas with V-shaped necks in colours like maroon, white, blue and lime green with pants of the same colours. These outfits prove to be good additions to workwear wardrobes.
