All of you must be busy working around your gastronomic calendar from Sashti to Dashami, the five days of Puja. While last week we gave you a lowdown on a few good Puja offers at diners around the town, this week—we bring you 10 more options for your Puja binge. While Park Pavilion brings the royal flavours of the Mughalai cuisines along with bona fide Bengali recipes, Café Swiss is ready with their Maha Bhoj. In case you are looking for some good food post-midnight then Alfresco’s buffet will have you sorted.

The Bridge, The Park Hotel

Durga Puja calls for fusion buffet and we have a curated menu for all days of puja both lunch and dinner different from each day including Live Band, Dhaaki and a live Puja experience. The buffet starts with a salad counter, a bhaja & street chat station. The starters have items like Bengali Fish Chop, Chicken Tikka with Coriander Dip and Babycorn Pepper Salt. The main course includes lip-smacking Chinese dishes like Tangra Style Chilli Chicken, Vegetable in Hot Garlic Sauce and Burnt Garlic Fried Rice. Executive Chef Madhumita Mohanta of The Lalit Great Eastern, Kolkata is on a mission to make your puja platter a conglomeration of flavours. From cuisines of the East and West Bengal to street food stations and the irresistible taste of Tangra Chinese to Nawabi recipes, Alfresco has it all. Also, there will be a few handpicked delicacies from around the world. The highlights include Cox bazaar Bhuna Kakra, Sapla Chingrir Ghonto, Mymensingher labra, Saghai chicken and much more. Your favourite tea room joins the Puja revelry and will surprise you with their Puja Maha Bhoj that is comprised of different types of thalis. While the Agamoni thali has steamed Golda Chingri in creamy coconut curry, and kalonji and mustard-Infused Kolkata Bhetki, the Tribhuvani Thali comes with Golbari-style chicken, and bhetki. The Narayani Thali is for vegetarians and comes with Bhapa Chhhanar Kofta and Begun Basanti. All thalis are accompanied by tender coconut and cantaloupe sherbet, ghee and spice sweet pulao, roasted sona moong dal, chutney, papad and mishti. Available at Park Street and Alipore outlets.

AFRAA



At Afraa for the Pujo Mahaotsav, their special menu begins today. Their lunch and dinner buffet highlights include Quesadillas stuffed with Mochar Ghonto with tomato garlic chutney and kasundi sour cream, Chicken Kobiraji, Kadamkua Mutton Kebab, Kanch Kolar Kofta, Doi Katla and much more. Their dessert bar will make you a fan with sweets like the Chandra Kala, Jorda Rabri, Shor Bhaja Tiramisu and more.

SONAR TORI



Indulge in an elaborate thali at Sonar Tori, the fine dining restaurant at Salt Lake, after your pandal-hopping spree. You can expect a warm welcome with Gondhoraj ghol followed by starters that include Fish Fry, Palak Chingri Bora and Rajshahi Mangsher Seekh. From the bhaja (fried) section, you can relish Aloo Bhaja, Begun Bhaja and Dherosh Bhaja and from the mains, you can gorge on Chingri Malai curry, Kancha Ilish Tel Jhol, Bhuna Mutton and much more.

MONKEY BAR

Taste the flavours of Chayn Ochayna at Monkey Bar, where a bit of the old and
familiar blends with the new and unknown. This Durga Puja Special menu celebrates
the city’s favourite dishes in a completely new and unique way, and you can find treats like Rosogolla Chaat, inspired by the street-side delicacies of Hazratganj in Lucknow and the famous Bengali Rosogolla, in a not-so-sweet mood. Don’t miss the Mangshor Jhuri Bhaja, a dish influenced by the famous pounded meat served in Mynamar, which is your friendly neighbourhood Kosha Mangsho in a brand-new Puja flavour. Treats like these and more are not to be missed.

The Parking Lot

Situated at the heart of the gastronomic hub, stimulate your palate with a fresh perspective. Sip on some Fusion Cocktails like Agomoni, Basanti Eye Popping, Kash Gin Cooler and more. The Daily

At The Daily café get you daily treat during the Puja days. From Palm Candy Latte (organic taal & single estate beans) available in both hot and cold options to Cheese Sambousek which comes with cheese mix, fresh herbs, Bari’r baata kasundi. Also try The Daily Fry with bhetki, kasundi, thamma’r mosla among small plates. Large plates offer Roti Canai (Penang Chicken aar aloo jhol, coconut, Malay paratha) and Asian Cirry Bowl (wok tossed veggies, gondhoraj bhaat, lime). The Daily Dessert Bar offers Brown Butter Apple Pie (Granny Smith apple, cinnamon, Nolen gur’er caramel, vanilla ice cream) and  Gondhoraj 2.0 (gondhoraj lemon semifreddo, raspberry sauce, dehydrated meringue).

Pour House

The Pujo special menu has options galore for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians, along with innovative tipple to be paired. Sip on Blueberry green iced tea and Butter Beer Coffee if you are a teetotaler. Cocktails include Nomoshkar (homemade Kashmiri kahwa with gin and honey), The Divine Spirit (Tequila Blanco, Wheat grass, Guava Leaf, honey, Lemongrass), Whisky 21 (Irish Whiskey, Cardamom Syrup, Hot Coffee, Rose Water Whip Cream) and more. For starters, go for Kolkata Soya Champ, Khashi Mangsho Seekh Kebab, Teekha Kasundi Maachhi Tikka and Tandoori Roasted Deem. Amonf mains, there's Dal Makhni Kebab Platter and Kung Pao Veg Platter for vegetarians, and Butter Chicken Kebab Platter, Kochi Pathar Jhol Platter, biryani and more. The Brewhive

The highlights of the menu at The Brewhive at Sector V, Salt Lake includes Green Peas & Cheese Croquettes, Panchphoron Flavoured Chicken Skewers, Murshidabadi Chicken Sashlik, Grilled BBQ Coriander Prawns and Dhaniakali Kankra (crabmeat balls) to begin with as you sip on Thangabali (mojito flavoured with curry leaves) and Movie Mix (pineapple juice, white & dark rum, popcorn syrup). If you are craving for some khichuri then look for the Bhoger Ashtami on Ashtami and give your Puja a finishing touch with some Tok Mishti Shorbot with Fish Orly and Potato Cheese Balls on Navami.

ECHOES at Topsia launched its much-awaited festival with the highlights including Jalpari Seekh Kebab, Pan Fried Chilli Fish, Fish Tikka, Kachori and Aloo as starters. From wholesome Salads to delicious nibbles to the perfect main course, this place presents us with all those delicacies which we would love to indulge in. Some of the must-try items from each section of the menu are Roasted Lemon Chicken Salad, Fish Finger with Tartar Sauce, Chicken Momos, Pasta available in both Penne and Spaghetti, Chilly Chicken with fried rice and many more.
