IF YOU live in Salt Lake and have a party on your mind, then you don’t need to travel over 10kms to hit the dance floor in Park Street. Club Barocks at Godrej Waterside is ready with infectious music, food and their brand new bar that mixes drool worthy drinks.

When we made a trip to the 4,900 sq ft resto-bar on a Saturday evening, the tech hub of the city surprised us with this happening party address. The in-house DJ instantly made a connection with us with its party vibe. While the attendants in the self-lit Island bar mixed potions old and new, sweet and citrusy, we paused at the gaming zone before making ourselves comfortable in the lounge section. Fooseball, air hockey and darts, apart from a bookshelf, translates into good times with your bezzies. The spacious lounge section will compel you to show off your dance moves. Hard to avoid are the quotes all around the 140-seater party place that will make you chuckle under your breath. Sample ‘I followed my heart and it brought me to the bar.’ Amlan Chowdhury, owner of Club Barocks says, “Barocks is a great place to unwind. Keeping in mind the office-goers, we have special offers for them in the afternoon. And in the evening, it’s a different zone altogether with great music and food.” Their a la carte is a big deal with an unlimited supply of what you order from the menu.

From their four signature cocktails — New York Sour, Verde Sonita Margarita, Slice of Life and Barocks Hours — we sipped on the first one. As advised, we did not disturb the top layer, red wine, for the first couple of sips of the whiskey-based cocktail. We highly recommend the potent concoction. Offering multi-cuisine delectables, we nibbled the Cocktail Fish finger that was served with tartar sauce. The bite-sized appetiser will make you keep munching. The Baby Pizza, two-and-a-half inch big, is bite-size heaven for pizza lovers. The menu also has some interesting fusion dishes that include Afghani Chicken Risotto, Mahi Musallam and more. For those who like spicy appetisers, try their Green Chilli Chicken and we know you will love it as well. JD Infused Gulab Jamun flambéed on the table ended our munching session but the party mood continued.

Pocket Pinch: Rs 1,800 + for two.
