Artist Milind Nayak from Bengaluru dies of a heart attack at age 65

Artist Milind Nayak, a well-known art practitioner from Bengaluru, died of a heart attack on the evening of December 16.

Bengaluru, Dec 17: Artist Milind Nayak, a well-known art practitioner from Bengaluru, died of a heart attack on the evening of December 16, according to online reports.

Nayak was 65 years old, and had been suffering from diabetes for a long time. 

Nayak had trained under the veteran and noted artist GS Shenoy, and was prolific in his output of paintings, especially in his signature landscape style.

Nayak hailed from Manipal in Udupi district, and hosted his last solo show, Monsoon Moods, in 2017. 

Over the last few years, Nayak had established himself as an artist of note, even as his works began to adorn the homes of collectors in India, England, Germany, Poland, Ireland, Scotland, Holland, Malaysia and the USA. 

He is also represented in important corporate collections, says a biography note on his website. Nayak has held over thirty solo shows including three shows in USA and participated in group shows in London. 

A self-taught painter, Milind has worked in several disciplines like photography and digital art, says the note.
