Kolkata-based alt-rock band Alok Chaya's new video addresses our concerns about the environment

From the devastating Amazon fires to the deadly climate change happening around us, there's really no time for reflection. Kolkata-based alt-rock band Alok Chaya has taken the onus to draw attention to the manifold environmental crises facing the earth. The band's latest is a folk medley titled Jol Bina Chatok, and features the words of the prominent Baul mystic Lalon Fokir. 

"Well, we all are aware of the Amazon rainforest fire destruction which happened recently, and the pollution around us, so we got motivated to do  the video launch of our album 'Jol biney chatok.' The video features the concept of nature's diversity ,destruction of wildlife starving and conservation of our environment which enables a healthy green ambience. The eminent artistes of bangla music industry like eminent music composer Gaurab  chatterjee (Gaboo da), singer Timir biswas, Avirup Das and more will be present," the band members tell us.

Alok Chaya is a two-member band featuring Bijon and Suvo, and will host the album release at the South Kolkata venue, The Shed, this Saturday evening.
