Virat Kohli dedicates historic test win against England to Kerala flood victims

Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli on Wednesday dedicated India’s third test victory against England in Trent Bridge to the victims of the flash flood in Kerala. The floods which have claimed several lives over the last two weeks has seen many locals lose their means of livelihood as well as their houses in the process and Kohli’s heartwarming gesture has won over many hearts.

Virat Kohli after being adjudged as the Man of the Match in his speech said "We as a team want to dedicate this win to the flood victims in Kerala. A tough time there, and this is our bit that we can do." In the historic victory, India defeated England by 203 runs, which is their first win in the five-match series as they cut down the lead to 2-1. Interestingly, this was India’s seventh test victory in England, but only second in Trent Bridge. 

Virat Kohli also dedicated his innings hundred to his wife and Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma. He went on to say that it was she who has motivated him a lot and kept pushing his limits for him and is also instrumental in keeping him positive on the field. The win for Virat Kohli has now helped him surpass Sourav Ganguly’s record of 21 wins, to become the second most successful captain for India after MS Dhoni who has 27 wins.
