Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made her social media debut with her Instagram profile right before her appearance at Cannes. On the occasion of Mother’s Day, Aishwarya Rai shared a picture on Instagram in which she was seen kissing her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan on her lips. 

The actress captioned the picture as: "LOVE YOU UNCONDITIONALLY. Happiest Mama in the World"

Aishwarya went on to get trolled for the picture where several people started accusing her of behaving in a manner unsuitable to a mother.

Bollywood actress Pooja Bhatt had earlier also faced a similar controversy years ago when she shared a picture of her kissing her father. Pooja came in support of Aishwarya and said that the current reaction to a similar kiss triggers off a feeling of déjà vu in her.

The actress questioned sternly as to since when does a mother need permission from the world to kiss her child. She also added how giving replies to such unethical trolls will be like stooping to their lows. Praising Aishwarya, she professed that this brand of nationalism is the last refuge of the weak and that she was not fooled by it.
