Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi to play Narendra Modi in biopic on the Prime Minister

The film is said to be about Narendra Modi’s rise from being a tea-seller to become the Prime Minister of the country and is set to release before the 2019 elections.

Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi of  Yuva and Saathiya fame is all set to play the role of Narendra Modi, in a biopic on the Prime Minister by the same name, according to a recent report. While it was earlier reported that the role will be played by veteran actor Paresh Rawal, the new development will see Vivek working with director Omung Kumar on the film. 

The team has been reportedly working on the film for the last three years, with Paresh, as the central lead, however, the new development means that the film is set to release soon. The film titled PM Narendra Modi will be produced by Sandip Singh and the filming will start mid-Jan, as the first poster will be released on January 7. Interestingly, the film’s poster will be launched by Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis in 23 different languages across the country. Vivek Oberoi is reportedly working on the PM’s distinct looks and is currently attending many workshops to be able to ace the role. A large part of the film is going to be shot in Gujarat, while also shooting a little in other states in the country. 

Omung Kumar, is popularly known for National Award-winning film Mary Kom and this will be the second time that he and Sandip will be working together; the previous one being Sarbjit.
