Simmba star Sara Ali Khan is reportedly set to take up Deepika Padukone’s role in Cocktail 2.

A source close to the star was quoted by a leading media organisation saying, “Dinesh Vijan really likes her screen presence and feels Sara is a brilliant performer, so he has been wanting to work with her. Now, when Maddock Films was planning to make the next instalment in the Cocktail franchise, they bounced the idea off to Sara. The actress has liked the concept of Cocktail 2 and will mostly step into Deepika’s shoes for the sequel.”

Cocktail, directed by Homi Adajania, starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika and Diana Penty and released in 2012. 

That apart, Sara, who made her debut last year, will be seen in Imtiaz Ali’s next with Kartik Aaryan, Coolie No 1 with Varun Dhawan and Aanand L Rai’s project with Dhanush.
