Saand Ki Aankh’s trailer released this week received a positive response. Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, the film is based on the lives of the world’s oldest sharpshooters, Chandro (86) and Prakashi Tomar (82).

The debate about casting women of that age started when the makers announced the lead cast - Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar.

After the trailer launch, a few fans tweeted saying legendary actresses like Shabana Azmi or Neena Gupta would have done justice too. A user wrote: “I love @bhumipednekar and @taapsee but I kinda wish older actors were cast in these roles. Could you imagine @Neenagupta001 and @AzmiShabana or Jaya Bachchan? #SaandKiAankh.”

Neena replied back saying, “Yes, I was just thinking about this. Hamari umar ke role toe kamsekam humse kara lo bhai (At least let us act in roles that suit our age).”

Neena made a comeback with Badhaai Ho and will next be seen in Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhaan.
