After a lot of speculation, Hollywood actor Jake Gyllenhaal is most likely to play the role of Mysterio in the all-new Marvel movie, the Spider-man: Homecoming 2. It is the sequel to Spider-man: Homecoming starring Tom Holland. Although Gyllenhaal hasn't acted in superhero movies before, the actor says he is open to doing roles in different genres.

Mysterio is one among the many villains in the Spider-man comic series and will be making his debut in the Marvel movie series and was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. The character was previously a special effects artist named Quentin Beck and made his first appearance in 1964 in The Amazing Spider-man #13 comic book.

Jake Gyllenhaal is well known for his roles in Southpaw, Prince of Persia and Everest among many others. He is currently filming for Velvet Buzzsaw which is set to release on 26 October 2018.
