Slumdog Millionaire actor Dev Patel to make directorial debut 

Patel, an Oscar nominee for Lion, also co-wrote the script with Paul Angunawela and John Collee.

Slumdog Millionaire fame Dev Patel is set to make his directorial debut with a revenge thriller titled Monkey Man. Reportedly, he will also act in the movie, which is being presented to buyers at this year's American Film Market (AFM).

As per reports, Monkey Man,  the film set in modern-day India, tells a story about a boy (played by Patel), who comes back from prison to grapple with a world marred by corporate greed and eroding spiritual values. 

Patel, an Oscar nominee for Lion, also co-wrote the script with Paul Angunawela and John Collee. Reportedly, the production set to start in spring 2019 in Mumbai. 

The actor's other projects include  The Personal History of David Copperfield and Hotel Mumbai.
