At the recent music launch of Metro… In Dino, composer Pritam dropped a bomb that left fans stunned: actor Aditya Roy Kapur sang the film’s soundtrack.

Pritam calls Aditya Roy Kapur's singing "amazing"

The reveal came during the unveiling of the soulful track Zamaana Lage, where Pritam shared that Aditya has lent his voice to his own character’s songs.

Musicals mein jo stars hote hain, woh apna gaana khud gate hain,” Pritam said. “Iss film mein bhi, Adi ne apni awaaz mein gaana gaya hai and he’s sounding amazing (Lead actors sing their own songs in musicals. Adi sang his song and he sounds amazing).”

This musical debut by the actor has added a new layer of anticipation to the film, which features a total of ten songs, each intended to advance the narrative and deepen the emotional impact of the story.

Speaking at the event, Aditya Roy Kapur expressed his deep connection to the project and his admiration for its legacy. “It’s very special for me,” he said. “I was a big fan of the first Metro film — I loved it and I feel absolutely honoured to be a part of Metro… In Dino. As an actor, when you’re filming a song sequence, you’re acting as if you’re singing the lyrics. But when you actually sing them, it adds so much more depth and meaning to your performance. The songs in this film are not just beautiful — they carry the story forward.”

He added with excitement, “I haven’t heard all ten songs yet, but I’m really looking forward to them. I’m sure it’s going to be amazing.”

With Pritam’s musical genius, Anurag Basu’s direction, and now Aditya Roy Kapur’s surprise vocal debut, Metro… In Dino is shaping up to be a cinematic and musical treat audiences won’t want to miss.
