Two iconic anime universes are set to come together in Naruto x Ninkū, a new limited TV anime series announced during the ‘NARUTO: What’s Next?’ panel at New York Comic Con 2026. The crossover will bring together the worlds of Naruto and Ninkū, giving fans a new adventure featuring characters from both franchises.
From intense rivalries and high-stakes battles to emotional farewells and stories of perseverance, Naruto has built a lasting legacy in anime. Its themes of friendship, determination and overcoming adversity continue to appeal to audiences across generations. The upcoming crossover promises to expand that universe further, while the panel also revealed another development for manga fans.
In the new series, Kakashi assigns Team 7 a mission involving Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura, with Naruto taking on the role of acting leader. Determined to see the assignment through, Naruto sets out with his teammates, but their mission takes an unexpected turn when they mysteriously find themselves transported to another world. There, they encounter Fūsuke, an unusual-looking young boy whose appearance marks the beginning of an unfamiliar adventure.
Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto and Ninkū creator Koji Kiriyama will supervise the limited series, while Noriyuki Abe is set to direct.
