After nine weeks of learning many genres of comedy and proving himself, Nishant Suri was declared the winner of comedy show, Comicstaan. He took home the trophy along with Rs 10 lakh.
In a chat with a leading media organisation, Nishant said that he needs to become much better in his craft and this is just the beginning. “I can’t rest on my laurels, and I need to become the best that I can be. It's made me realise I'm capable of performing at the highest level, and I want to use this opportunity to make a mark,” said Nishant, adding that the digital comedy reality series helped him realise his potential.
The Amazon Prime Original series featured comedians Tanmay Bhat, Kenny Sebastian, Biswa Kalyan Rath, Kanan Gill, Kaneez Surka, Sapan Verma and Naveen Richard as judges.
"It was an incredible and life-changing journey. I'd been doing stand up for three years when I went in, and I probably learnt more in those two months than I learnt before. It was a very intense experience, and something I'm going to cherish for a long time," he said.
