"I have tried to incorporate the architectural details, the distinct iconography of the 17th century in my designs. My grandfather moved to Old Delhi, in Delhi-6 from Mathura, in 1939, looking for a new beginning with his newly wedded wife and set up a house, where we lived till 1984. The collection is more nostalgia driven with my own childhood memories and the stories I kept hearing till much later,” says Puja Bhargava Kamath, founder and creative head, Lai.

Dramatic 'Chakshu' (deity eye) statement ring: Curious, intelligent, playful and inspired by treasures from the past; found in bazaars, flea markets or in

The collection is sure to appeal to the memory collectors, the wanderlusts and the experimenters scouting for timeless design stories in jewellery, comprising 23 unique designs in form of earrings, rings and necklaces.

Lush, gold plated, two-tone lotus statement ring

“Part familiar, part exotic, we've also used 'chakshu' (deity's eye), replicas of Mughal 'asharfi' and ghungroos in this collection,” adds Puja.
