Dream Nouveau: Varun Bahl at India Couture Week

Inspired by art and architecture, Varun’s Fall/ Winter line to be showcased at the 10th edition of India Couture Week is influenced by the flamboyant era of 1890-1910.“When I was planning my collection, structures like the House of Gaudi and La Sagrada Familia played a big role in structuring the silhouettes. These designs are also heavily influenced by Czech artist and painter Alphonse Mucha  from the 1800s, whose traditional bohemian sensibilities and Neoclassical motifs spoke to me and helped give voice to my personal style,” explains the designer.
