Christie's Mumbai celebrates the opening of the exhibition 'The Modern Connoisseur'

Christie’s Mumbai, headed by Sonal Singh invited the local collector base to an opening of the exhibition “The Modern Connoisseur” on Tuesday, 27 November 2018. The exhibition included works on loan as well as highlights from the March South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction to take place in New York. Works by Nicholas Roerich, SH Raza, Ram Kumar and Bharti Kher, to name a few artists are exhibited of which many have not been seen publicly for many decades.

The cocktail evening was animated with a wine tasting given by Simon Tam, Head of Wine at Christie's while Meera Kumar spoke about Swapna Mehta's Modern Heirloom Jewellery and Sitanshi Talati-Parikh was in Conversation with textile designer Anavila Misra about The Art of the Sari.

The exhibition will be on view at Christie's Mumbai, Dhanraj Mahal, B-11, Apollo Bandar, Mumbai  until 14 December 2018.
