‘Click on the animal you want to see live’ - if this doesn’t excite any wildlife enthusiast, then what will? Vandalur Zoo’s idea of live streaming services from within its compound is a masterstroke of sorts, but what executes it even better is the neat way in which they have arranged the steaming tiles on their website, under a section called the Animal Display Area.

And about the superstars on camera, they range from the white tiger with her adorable cubs and the Bengal tiger to the Indian gaurs and leopards. The king of the jungle also finds pride of place in this pack, along with bears, elephants, crocodiles, hippopotamus, chimpanzees, and the lion-tailed macaque.

Going by the 13 million page visits on the Animal Display Area so far, it seems the public has come to love it as well. After all, who wouldn’t want to see an ‘animal planet’ from closer home?!
