The Indian Railways is planning to launch a train service which will cover the route of the places in the epic Ramayana. The train will be called Sri Ramayana Express and will run from Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh to Colombo in Sri Lanka via Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu. The train which is set to run from November 14 in Delhi would be Rs 15, 120 per person, according to the details released. 

According to several reports, all the locations will be covered in 16 days and all the passengers will stay in dharamshalas. The train will also have IRCTC tourist managers who will help people with information throughout the tour. The train will begin from Safdargunj station and will make its first stop at Ayodhya followed by Hanuman Garhi, Ramkot and Kanak Bhawan Temple. The train will also make stops are other places on the way including Chitrakoot, Hampi and Rameswaram. 

Interestingly, depending on the response for the tourist train by passengers, they can also travel to Colombo after they are shifted to a train in Chennai and flown down to the city. While in Sri Lanka, passengers will visit Ramboda, Nuwara Elliya, and Chilaw before completing the trip.
