Enjoy Holi and playing with colours without any worry about your skin and hair with these easy tips shared by Bengaluru-based dermatologist Dr Anil Abraham.
- Use a cold cream or moisturiser on the skin before going out
- Use a sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher which is labelled Broad Spectrum
- Use coconut oil in the hair especially near the roots and around the ears this helps protect the hair and ears from colour stains
- Avoid bleach and facial for one week after Holi
- Use colourless nail polish on the nail and around the nail folds before going out to play. Apply a thick coat. You can wipe off with acetone afterwards
- Keep yourself hydrated Keep your sunscreen with you. Carry an old cap or bandana and use it as a fashion accessory
- If you like home remedies , make a paste with multani mitti, lemon, curd and rose water. Apply after the Holi festivities. Wash off with generous coconut oil and mild cleanser
- Wear a bandana, sunglasses, and full-sleeved clothing
- Avoid harsh colours and metallic colours. Use organic or natural colours where available
