There has been a buzz around BIAL or the Bengaluru International Airport that the authorities have decided to host music concerts and weddings. However, even though there have been reports that an auditorium near the airport will be built for such big events.

A BIAL spokesperson said,"BIAL plans to develop a world-class concert arena on a 6.3-acre land parcel at the BLR Airport campus to cater to the growing demand for entertainment events in Bengaluru. Once complete, this arena would be the first of its kind to be built at an airport in India. It is proposed to be a cost-effective, semi-permanent marquee structure. The allotted area for this development is adjacent to the newly-built South Access Road. It is envisaged to have the capacity to accommodate up to 9,000 people and be capable of hosting a wide range of events such as music concerts, award shows, weddings, exhibitions, conventions, etc."

But considering the traffic jams on the roads that lead up to the airport and the time taken to reach, it seems the authorities will have to think of all the logistical challenges before going ahead with the plan.
