Critics Choice Awards Full Winners List: ‘RRR’ wins in two categories, ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ bags Best Picture

The Critics Choice Awards took place in Los Angeles

The 28th Critics Choice Awards took place on January 15 (January 16 in IST) at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. At the star-studded event, SS Rajamouli’s RRR won in two categories (Best Song for Naatu Naatu, and Best Foreign language film) out of the five categories the film was nominated for. Soon after the win, the official handle for the film tweeted, “Naatu Naatu Again!! Extremely delighted to share that we won the #CriticsChoiceAwards for the BEST SONG #RRRMovie. Here’s @mmkeeravaani’s acceptance speech!!”

“Thank you so much I am very overwhelmed with this award. I am here to receive this wonderful award by the critics. Thank you all the critics, on behalf of my chorographer, lyrics writer, my singers, my programmers and of course my director,” MM Keeravani said in the video. 

The handle also tweeted the news of the movie winning in the foreign language film category, writing, “RRR won the BEST FOREIGN LANGUAGE FILM award at the #CritcsChoiceawards. Here’s  @ssrajamouli acceptance speech!! ”

A24,s Everything Everywhere All at Once, directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert won the award for Best Picture at the ceremony, while Cate Blanchett was awarded the trophy for Best Actress for her work in Tár. Brandon Fraser won the award for Best actor for the American Drama film, The Whale. Kwan and Scheinert were named the best director for Everything Everywhere All at Once and Better Call Saul bagged the award for Best Drama Series.
