You don’t need an excuse to enjoy a good burger. But, if you are in the market for the best burger in town, rest assured your search is at an end. We don’t know if it is their pillowy soft bun or the juicy meat patties or the spicy sauces that set your tongue on fire or maybe it is a bit of everything. But, this little burger joint at RS Puram that opened in December is the hottest haunt in the city for all those who love a hearty burger.

Beauty and the beef

A typical afternoon at Burger Tree boasts packed tables with people going in for repeat orders and we decided to see what the fuss was all about. So we ordered their signature Brooklyn Beef burger and were instantly taken to burger heaven when we took a bite of the succulent beef patty that was served with caramelised onions, a generous helping of cheese and fries, all loaded inside soft buns.

Stamped to perfection

We were pleasantly surprised when we were served burgers that had buns stamped with ‘BT’ on top of it. A quick bite and you knew these buns are not store bought. Sure enough, Fainas Konari, one of the owners at Burger Tree explains to us that the buns were made from scratch with a recipe that was perfected over months. “All the ingredients for our burgers, right from the buns to patties to our sauces are all made in-house and a lot of research goes into it. We want our buns to stand out so,we put our stamp on it” says Fainas.

Burger in a bowl

Next up, we tried the Dragon chicken burger bowl, another signature dish in which the burger is completely deconstructed and served in a bowl. Cubes of spicy chicken are served with crunchy shreds of carrot, capsicum and lettuce drizzled with a spicy chilli sauce and honey.

The joint also has a variety of vegetarian options and the chef recommended the honeydew mushroom burger and we weren’t disappointed. The burger had a generous serving of fried mushrooms, crunchy lettuce, tomatoes, mayo and honey.

Burger goals

If you are a hard-core fan of meat burgers then the B3 burger is a must try. The towering burger comes with three patties including beef and chicken zinger and is packed with protein. For those who want to try something different, Burger Tree also has a wide selection of sandwiches which can be customised with different portions of meat and veggies according to customer’s preference. “In a couple of months we are planning to introduce multi-grain breads and buns for the extremely health-conscious customers,” says Fainas.

Sweet kicks

For those with a sweet tooth, Burger Tree whips up yummy smoothies and thick-shakes along with generous scoops of ice creams. But if you are someone who likes to wrap up a meal with a warm beverage, their assorted tea selection with interesting flavours like honey chamomile, and peach orange are a must try.
