Indian composer AR Rahman was recently involved in a controversy after his daughter Khatija was spotted wearing a niqab at the 10 year celebration of Slumdog Millionaire. However, Rahman immediately addressed the issue and said that his daughter had the freedom to choose and wear whatever she wants, and they were not ‘conservative’ like trolls called them.

A day after the controversy, Rahman shared a picture of his three children on Instagram and fans are loving the adorable picture as Raheema, Khatija and Ameen pose for the camera. While Raheema is seen wearing a flowing green and gold gown, Khatija is seen wearing a black and gold dress with the niqab. On the other hand, Ameen is seen sporting a trendy look with a black shiny blazer and silver shoes. The picture has already got over three lakh likes as people came out in support of the singer, saying that trolls shouldn’t imply the wearing of a niqab to oppression, without knowing the true meaning of liberty and women empowerment.

Earlier, Rahman replying to the trolls had shared a picture of his two daughters Raheema and Khatija with his wife Sairaa posing with Nita Ambani. Khatija also immediately reacted to the trolls saying that she is a sane mature adult who knows to make her own choices in life and wear whatever she wants, and people should not pass judgements without understanding the exact situation.
