As speculations about a possible collaboration between filmmaker Atlee and Shah Rukh Khan continue to make their rounds, a photograph of the director at Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday bash has sent things into overdrive.

It was a week ago, ahead of the release his big Diwali movie, Bigil that Atlee hinted at teaming up with Shah Rukh Khan for a project. I have a huge amount of love and respect for SRK sir and he also loves my work. Soon, hopefully, we will do something about it,” Atlee said.

Part of the birthday party that was attended by SRK’s close friends and family members, Atlee attended the party with his wife Priya and was all smiles as he posed with the birthday boy for a picture that was later posted on Twitter. As per another selfie that is going viral, the event also had in attendance another Tamil filmmaker, Vetri Maaran.

With rumours initially suggesting that Atlee and Shah Rukh Khan would come together for a Hindi remake of Tamil film Mersal, reports now have it that the upcoming project will be an original production and not a remake. Tentatively titled Sanki, the movie will be produced by Red Chillies Entertainment. An official announcement is awaited.
