Hyderabad becomes Haleem Capital of India, orders three times more than Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata

Based on the order analysis from delivery company Swiggy between May 6th to May 20th, Hyderabad has been titled the Haleem Capital of India.

From Modak for Ganesh Chaturthi to Gujia for Holi, every festival is often associated with a favourite dish. Likewise, Ramzan in Hyderabad is incomplete without haleem.

Based on the order analysis from delivery company Swiggy between May 6th to May 20th, Hyderabad has been titled the Haleem Capital of India.

The Nawabi dish continues to be one of the most popular orders for Iftar in Hyderabad. The city orders more haleem during iftar when compared to any other city in the country. This season, Hyderabad ordered three times more than the top cities - Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata. Mutton Haleem is ordered more than Mutton Biryani. Hyderabadis ordered almost 10 times more Mutton Haleem than Mutton Biryani in Ramzan.

According to the analysis, restaurants in Hyderabad have experienced six times increase in iftar time-orders since the beginning of Ramzan this year as compared to Ramzan last year. 

Other popular Iftar items in Hyderabad, apart from Haleem, include Chicken Biryani, Chicken Tikka Frankie, Chicken Burger and Chicken 65. Top restaurants like Pista House, Sarvi, Shadaab, Parivaar, Chicha's, Capital, Bawarchi, Grill 9, Greenpark, Shah Ghouse are some of the city’s favourite restaurants this Iftar season.
