From lingering eye contact and a change in posture to the way someone positions themselves around you, body language can reveal feelings that aren’t always spoken aloud. Understanding these non-verbal cues can therefore offer useful clues when you’re trying to work out whether someone is genuinely attracted to you.
1. She mirrors your body language
If she starts copying your movements, that is a sure sign. When someone feels comfortable and connected to you, matching your posture, gestures, or even the way you sit can happen subconsciously. Repeated mirroring can be a sign of rapport on its own, and it may not always prove attraction.
2. She plays with her hair
Running her fingers through her hair, or twisting it, or adjusting it can sometimes be a flirting cue. It can be a subconscious way of drawing attention to herself or looking her best around someone she likes. Having said that, it could simply be a habit if she does it all the time.
3. She holds your gaze
Even if not a single word is exchanged, you can understand a person’s feelings through eye contact. Consistent effort can be one of the clearest signs of interest like smiling whenever she sees you to asking about your future plans, making time to meet your friends or finding reasons to spend time together. Rather than relying on one gesture alone look for a pattern.
A note on body language:
No single gesture proves that someone is attracted to you. Crossed arms, for instance, can mean discomfort or emotional distance, but they can also simply mean she is cold or standing comfortably. The most reliable clues are consistent behaviour, genuine conversation, and whether she actively makes an effort to spend time with you.
