After Gully Boy’s success, actor Siddhant Chaturvedi is in a happy space. The Mumbai-based artiste has received appreciation from fans and critics alike.

In a recent interaction with a leading media organisation, he said that the audience calls Ranveer Singh and him “new age Jai-Veeru”. “It’s not easy for someone to give so much of screen time to a debutant but Ranveer is a pure soul. I found my MC Sher in him, he mentored me and made me feel powerful. The audience calls us the new age Jai-Veeru,” he reportedly said.

Talking about the big break, he also said, “I waited very long for this break and had faith that I would impress the audience with this author-backed role, but I didn’t expect it to happen in a matter of two-three days.”

Gully Boy, co-written and directed by Zoya Akhtar, is the story of an underdog, who breaks the shackles of reality and realises his dream of becoming a well-known rapper. It is inspired by the lives of Mumbai-based rappers Divine and Naezy. The two of them have also contributed to the film’s soundtrack.
